“One year of internship at JoinTheLeaders had been an incredible experience that taught me how to take initiatives and be innovative in reaching out to community. Most of the executive members themselves are young Korean-Canadian professionals with promising career ahead of them, and JoinTheLeaders shares their experience and knowledge with other young Korean-Canadian professionals and university students though their workshops and other events. Moreover, JoinTheLeaders opens the door to learn about established senior Korean-Canadian professionals via creative methods such as “Follow The Leaders” project, in which those successful Korean leaders share their zest of know-how for their success though honest interviews. In doing so, JoinTheLeaders also teaches one of the meanings of leadership: “A leader is a person who shepherds and guides the peers into right direction to excel.” JoinTheLeaders encourages young professionals to excel in their professions, then contribute back to the community. As I worked with dedicated and enthusiastic members, I was deeply inspired and determined to become a leader like them someday. All and all, I had enjoyed being involved with JoinTheLeaders and strongly recommend other young Korean-Canadians to ‘join the leaders’ .”
