JoinTheLeaders @ YGTLC 2010

Young Generation Technical and Leadership Conference

On January 7, 2010, Yongsub Eric Shin from KCLDC East Chapter and Stella Chun from KCLDC West Chapter flew to Washington D.C. to attend Korean-American Scientists and Engineers Association (KSEA)’s Young Generation Technical Leadership Conference (YGTLC) 2010 for 3 days. We would like to share their experience at YGTLC.

A brief background of YGTLC

"The Sixth Annual Young Generation Technical and Leadership Conference (YGTLC) hosted by the Korean-American Scientists and Engineers Association (KSEA) and the Korea-U.S. Science Cooperation Center (KUSCO) is the flagship event for Korean-American young professionals, graduate and undergraduate students. The three-day program includes talks on emerging technologies, speeches from distinguished industry and academic leaders, career development, networking, and leadership programs."

Testimonials

“It was my first time to attend YGTLC this year. I was fortunate to be one of the 10 Korean-Canadian participants, and it was an eye-opening experience for me. Throughout the 3-day conference, I was able to attend many workshops on technical & leadership topics, participate in multiple group exercises to build team spirit, and also mix and mingle with many young professionals and graduate students from various cities of the United States and Canada. Especially, I met many people who went to the past YGTLC conferences as well. They told me that the past YGTLC were so great that they participated in this year’s YGTLC again. As a participant from Canada, I wish we had this kind of conference in Canada as well to invite all Korean-American young professionals to the beautiful country! With 120 participants, YGTLC 2010 was a huge success in terms of the quality of the program, the participants, and the atmosphere. I would love to attend YGTLC again next year.” - Yongsub Eric Shin from JoinTheLeaders East Chapter

“This was my second time attending YGTLC. Like last year, it was the most unforgettable experience I could have had as Korean scientist living in North America. I had an opportunity to meet with various graduate students and young professionals who are in the same field as me, a networking experience that could not be obtained in Canada. I hope that the new networks that I made will be a lasting relationship I hope to maintain and the future YGTLC will be a place for reunion with old friends but also a place where new bonds will be formed.” - Stella Chun from JoinTheLeaders West Chapter

JoinTheLeaders and YGTLC from now on

JoinTheLeaders works hard to build the network of Korean leaders in North America and further those in the world. For the future YGTLC conferences, we will encourage more members of JoinTheLeaders as well as other Korean-Canadians to support YGTLC and expand our network in North America.
